Performance Rockin' the Fillmore is the 1971 live double-LPsingle-CD by English blues-rock group Humble Pie, recorded at the Fillmore East in New York City on May 2829, 1971. It reached 21 on the Billboard 200, 32 in Canada, and hit the UK Top 40. The hour-long set contains one original song and several covers. Performance: Rockin The Filmore - Humble Pie. Humble Pie scored a few more hits with replacement guitarist Clem Clempson on the albums 'Smokin'' and 'Eat It,' before finally petering out for good. The four-disc box 'Performance. Ive got a new axe, its too much Its going to make me rock on, man were the words of Steve Marriott as the band took the stage. The bands shows on 28 and 29 May 1971 were taped for the album at the venue in New Yorks Lower East Side neighbourhood, now the East Village, only a month before the Fillmore East closed its doors. The gigs followed their US chart debut that very month with Rock On, which only reached No. 118, but enjoyed a 23-week stay on the album chart, demonstrating the popularity they were earning with American fans.
