I have been sitting on these 'spooked out' place based recordings for three years. I was going to edit a few tracks out, but now here they are complete as originally intended.
I was in Chicago May for two weeks in 2014 for a conference, camped at the Congress Plaza Hotel. In the evenings for entertainment I felt compelled by the strange feeling in the hotel, to record these 'miniatures' whilst indulging in burgers, crappy American beer and bourbon.
The recordings were done in sequence recorded over a week. Each recording has one element of the previous piece, so there is an exchange and continuity between each track. Its all first take performance, so almost like a live recording, no editing.
After a few odd things happened (objects moving) while I was recording at night, I found out later on that the hotel is the most haunted hotel in the US. I don't think I will ever go back there again.
BONUS TRACKS recorded in Narrabeen continuing the method.
